A freshly released behind-the-scenes (BTS) clip from the set of Border 2 has decisively quashed swirling rumours that actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh was removed from the high-profile sequel amid ongoing controversy surrounding his Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3.

In the video, Dosanjh steps out of a vanity van dressed in a crisp suit bearing a batch and an army insignia. He proceeds onto the set as cameras capture a full-fledged dance sequence, with the signature title track “Sandese Aate Hain” playing in the background. The clip is capped with a simple caption: “Border 2.” Clearly, Diljit remains a central part of the cast, alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty.
The scandal began after Sardaar Ji 3, featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, ignited outrage following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) formally petitioned the makers of Border 2, urging Diljit’s removal on grounds of national sentiment and urging solidarity with Indian forces.. In one letter, FWICE reportedly warned that shooting at the NDA in Pune “must not be used as a backdrop for a film involving an actor who is currently under public and professional boycott.”
Despite the pressure, a source disclosed that half the film is already shot, and recasting at this late stage would be “logistically unfeasible”; Diljit’s inclusion was confirmed nearly nine months ago.
Eyewitnesses on set and the viral BTS footage reaffirm that Dosanjh remains firmly on board, effectively silencing speculation of his exit.
